Dr. Ahn is a Board-Certified Anti-Aging Regenerative Medicine Physician and Integrative Gastroenterologist.
She grew up in Colorado Springs, CO with her parents and two sisters. She was an avid runner throughout her youth and competed many local races throughout Colorado, including The Pikes Peak Marathon in 1984.
Dr. Ahn earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Physical Fitness and Health Management.
She earned her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Ahn completed her internship at the Oakland Naval Hospital and then her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Ahn was in the Navy for four years and taught medical students and residents both at the David Grant Medical Center and Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital. She also took care of active duty service men and women, and their families. She was honorably discharged in 2001 with the rank of Lieutenant Commander, at which time she moved to the Boston area with her husband and two children.
Dr. Ahn completed a two-year fellowship in functional medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (the sub-specialty of bio-identical hormone therapy and primary disease prevention). Completing her Gastroenterology training at Boston Medical Center, she is board certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her studies have gained her extensive knowledge in gut health and how it affects the brain and immune system.
Dr. Ahn continues to enjoy running to this day and completed the Boston Marathon in 2014. She also enjoys paddle-boarding, snowboarding, yoga, and long walks with her 2 black labs.
